Anthony Perkins
Anthony Perkins (April 4, 1932–September 12, 1992) was an American actor best known for his role when a serial killer Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. He was a boy of Western stage & film actor Osgood Perkins (James Ripley Osgood Perkins, 1891–1937) & his married woman, Janet.
Perkins' number one picture show was The Actress (1953); he received an Academy Award nomination for his role in his 2nd film, Friendly Persuasion (1956).
When more acclaimed performances two within film & in Broadway, he starred in the 1960 film Psycho, which led to his being typecast when a crazy killer (''Lovin' Molly notwithstanding). His performances around Psychotic & its sequels (Psycho II, Psycho III and Psycho IV: The Beginning'') were effective because of the ambiguity he bring round the role, existence each the vulnerable victim & cold killer at different days. This added to a suspense when it was never known per viewer until the previous a portion of the film whether Perkins' character was responsible the slaying.

Perkins was bisexual, having experienced affairs by owning the total of men, including 1950s and 60s film star Tab Hunter, writer-model-actor Alan Helms, dancer Rudolf Nureyev and dancer-choreographer Grover Dale, with whom Perkins got the vi-month relationship before his marriage to Berry Berenson. He claimed to own been only homosexual until his late thirties, when he underwent gay to straight therapy. Dale married actress Anita Morris only 10 years prior to a Perkins-Berenson wedding ceremony (Dale & Morris's boy is television actor James Badge Dale).
Perkins died inside 1992 of complications from AIDS.
His boy, Osgood Perkins, credited when Oz Perkins, is also an actor.
A single day prior to a 9th day of remembrance of his demise, his widow woman, Berry Berensin, died on American Airlines Flight 11, a flight that was hijacked & crashed into a N Tower of the Globe Trade Center when you took the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks.
